Believing that humane education is crucial to improving animal welfare in general, and conditions for Grand Bahama's animals specifically, the Humane Society of Grand Bahama is always happy to accomodate when a schoolteacher asks us to visit.? (We also welcome field trips to the shelter.)

Four and five year old students learn about animal care thanks to some cute puppies
Shelter Director Tip Burrows and HSGB volunteer Michelle Saunders spoke to the 4 and 5 year olds of Bishop Michael Eldon School last week. Their teacher, Mrs. Stuart, was finishing up a curriculum based on animals with an emphasis on animal welfare and asked us to visit.
